Make no mistake about it, Trump is only the mirror that reflects the true image of these Divided States of America that we live in.
Actually, we probably owe Donald Trump a word of thanks for the awakening of some from the false utopia of a post racial America that many thought was ushered in with an Obama Presidency.
Unfortunately, to some of Trump’s supporters, this is what “Make America Great Again” looks like.
If only America could be great again where it wasn’t against the law to burn a few crosses on some lawns and to go out and pick a nigger ( aka: picnic) for some family entertainment. Those that wish to remain silent on the sidelines because they somehow feel this doesn’t pertain to them need to think again. If you’re not considered pure bred, blue-eyed blonde hair, red-blooded American then you don’t belong here to some of these Trump supporters. Even if you are one of the chosen, you may be asked about your opinion of those who are not. Knowing full well the only thing worse than one of those thought to be the underbelly of society, is to be a “fill in the blank” – lover! You will choose sides. I’m reminded of the quotes by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Albert Einstein. Injustice anywhere if a threat to justice everywhere ~ MLK The world will not be destroyed by those that do evil, but by those who watch and do nothing ~ Albert Einstein All hands on deck! Burying our heads in the sand or up our butts and not having meaningful race discussions has us in 2016 in a very similar place as back in the 1960’s on so many fronts. Even If Trump packs it up and calls off his campaign tomorrow, all of his followers still remain amongst us as members of society as police officers, firefighters, veterans, future military, bankers, insurance, welfare recipients and whatever other line of work people do.
Let that marinate in your brain and morality for a minute.
